    A reduced timetable has led to this service, which normally divides to form a service to Hexham to be cut back to terminate at Newcastle. The lines are extremely quiet at midday as services have been reduced to near-Sunday timetables across the entire country, however there are still a few issues causing delays on the line. You will call at: Gypsy Lane (12:20), Marton (12:23), James Cook (12:25), Middlesborough (12:31), Thornaby (12:37), Stockton (12:43), Billingham (12:51), Seaton Carew (12:57) & Hartlepool (13:01) where this service will switch to a Newcastle driver.  Year: 2020.

There is a slightly delayed freight service ahead of you for part of the route, you'll have to drive cautiously to stay close to your timetable.     Due to a train fault, 1V94 at Brighton doesn't have a unit to run it. Once you arrive at Redhill in 150001 as 2O28, you'll be turning around and working down to Brighton (via Hove) as 5Z94 to replace the failed unit on the working back out to Great Malvern. A 165 will be working behind you as 5Z52 from Reading to form your original outward service at Redhill. It's near the end of the morning rush, so the lines are busy along with some extra delays caused by a Class 700 shutting down at Wivelsfield, expect the run to be a bit hectic. You are booked to call at Reigate (07:47), Redhill (07:51/07:54), Hove (08:34/08:43) & Brighton (08:48). You are allowed to leave Hove early, after the SN 313 leaves Hove. Year: 2020.

You'll have to start up this Class 156 from cold and work this all stops service to Great Yarmouth via Reedham. The line is fairly busy, but there shouldn't be much impact on your train. You will be calling at: Brundall Gardens (10:43), Brundall (10:46), Buckenham (10:50), Cantley (10:54), Reedham (10:59), Berney Arms (11:05) & Great Yarmouth (11:13). You will just be stopping at Berney Arms, the guard will handle the stop if needed. Year: 2007.

    Due to capacity limitations on the line from Bangor to Holyhead, Transport for Wales operate one extra service a day along this line that terminates and reverses at Bangor on Saturdays. You will be taking this service from outside Chester to Bangor, before reversing back into the station on this fine summers day! Year: 2019.
    You will be calling at Chester, Shotton, Flint, Prestatyn, Rhyl, Abergele & Pensarn, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno Junction, Conwy (middle carriage only), Penmaenmawr, Llanfairfechan and finally Bangor. The timetable is fairly loose and there is little disruption except for some late services at Chester.

    Chronic stock shortages across the TfW network result in strange substitutions. Take this Class 142, in place of the booked Class 150 from Cardiff Central to Swansea, calling at all stations along the way. There is little traffic on the line despite the time due to the cancellations, so it should be a fine drive. You will be calling at Pontyclun, Llanharan, Pencoed, Bridgend, Pyle, Port Talbot Parkway, Baglan, Briton Ferry, Neath, Skewen, Llansamlet and Swansea. You will need to drive well, as the Sprinter timings are hard to achieve in a Pacer!

You won't be able to run via Bordesley Jn due to a planned closure but you will continue to run via Worcester Shrub Hill as booked. Due to the reduced demand, XC have only given you a 2 coach Class 170 rather than the normal 3 carriage Class 170, though there won't be the typical CrossCountry overcrowded experience.     During the last day of ATW, two Northern units were hired out as they were spare due to the Northern strikes. These worked on Llandudno to Manchester services to help increase capacity. You'll be taking it's final run of the day from Llandudno as far as Chester, calling at all stations. You'll be working with unrefurbed 150215 & refurbed 150222 for this journey. Year: 2018.
