   1D35 - Manchester Airport to Bangor

   Due to capacity limitations on the line from Bangor to Holyhead, Transport for Wales operate one extra service a day along this line that terminates and reverses at Bangor on Saturdays. You will be taking this service from outside Chester to Bangor, before reversing back into the station on this fine summers day! Year: 2019.
   You will be calling at Chester, Shotton, Flint, Prestatyn, Rhyl, Abergele & Pensarn, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno Junction, Conwy (middle carriage only), Penmaenmawr, Llanfairfechan and finally Bangor. The timetable is fairly loose and there is little disruption except for some late services at Chester.

   Owing to the Autumn leaves, many units are out of service with wheel flats, meaning that many loco sets have been reintroduced to North Wales on the primarily-Sprinter operated service and taken away from other services. You'll be taking a Class 158 on a limited stop service, timed for a loco set. The timings are loose, so it's perfect for a nice leisurely run up the coast. You'll be calling at: Chester (09:55), Rhyl (10:24), Colwyn Bay (10:36), Llandudno Junction (10:43), Bangor (11:01) & Holyhead (11:30). Have a good run! Year: 1993.

In order to provide more room in Chester, this service has been extended to start from Crewe. You have a short time to set up your train as the prior service terminated late. An alternate Class 175 has been arranged from Chester onwards, so you will have to shunt out of the way of other trains once at Chester. Your headcode from Llandudno is 1H85 with the signal ahead of you being LO7. From Chester, you will re-register as 5Z85. Year: 2019

   During the last day of ATW, two Northern units were hired out as they were spare due to the Northern strikes. These worked on Llandudno to Manchester services to help increase capacity. You'll be taking it's final run of the day from Llandudno as far as Chester, calling at all stations. You'll be working with unrefurbed 150215 & refurbed 150222 for this journey. Year: 2018.

You will be calling at: Bangor (06:03), Llandudno Junction (06:21), Colwyn Bay (06:27), Rhyl (06:37), Prestatyn (06:42), Flint (06:56), Shotton (07:12) & Chester (07:13), where another driver will take it down toward Shrewsbury & Cardiff Central.    Due to fire damage on the rear coach, 175107 is running around as a 2 carriage set. You will be taking it on the first leg of it's long trek down to Llanelli, operating one of the quicker coastal services. The line is fine, but there is some disruption east of Llandudno Junction. Enjoy the lovely coastal weather! Year: 2019.
   The Up Passenger Loop at Llandudno Junction is closed due to a collapse of a wall onto the tracks, you will find signage to direct you at Llandudno Junction.

    On weekdays, an extra trip is ran between Chester & Rhyl as the express service operated by a HST couldn't call at Shotton, Flint & Prestatyn, which are served on the Saturday service. You'll be operating this quick service to Rhyl, before then working empty back to Chester depot via Llandudno Junction. Unfortunately for you, you've been given a Class 142 for the job. Year: 1994.

    A huge boom in the Conwy Valley's tourism industry has required an increase in service from Transport for Wales to keep up with demand. Take this TfW Class 156 along the branch, passing the other Conwy Valley services at Llandudno Junction & North Llanrwst. The timings are tight, but the coast is clear for a good run down to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Year: 2020.

    6F39 - Mostyn Docks to Arpley Sidings

    A flow that ended in the beginning of 2008 was an export route of steel from Scunthorpe to Mostyn Docks for onward travel to Ireland. This arrived loaded early in the morning, before being emptied and returning to Warrington Arpley yard empty. After preparing your train and running around the wagons, you'll be working the empty run from Mostyn as far as Chester, where another crew will take it onward to Warrington. You'll need to prepare your train from cold, before running around the yard, before heading out to Chester, where you are booked to arrive at 07:49. Your top speed is 60mph. Year: 2008.
